The Cornerman System

Designed to ensure everyone stays safe & on the correct road.

There will be a Lead Rider & Sweep ( the last ) Rider often wearing a fluro vest.
All other riders will ride between these guys.

When the Lead Rider deviates off the road/track you are currently on (ie at an intersection), he may indicate to the first rider behind (the Cornerman) to safely position himself clearly to the others following.
The Cornerman should point his/her bike or use some other indication as to where the Lead Rider has gone. The Cornerman may also stop on his own perception of whether there is a possible confusing adjoining road/track or intersection not indicated by the Lead Rider.
(What's one person's idea of a straight forward intersection may still be confusing to another.)

The aim is to keep everyone moving smoothly & safely along.

The Cornerman will stay at that position until the Sweep Rider acknowledges him
& then the Cornerman may resume with the group, ahead of the Sweep.
Faster riders need not necessarily have to stay behind slower riders,
all it means is that they will be cornermen much more often.

Remember though, it is not a race ........... ride safely at your own pace &
if you feel the need to pass, please respect fellow riders, we are happy to wait.

Volunteer Sweeps will always be appreciated for all or part of the day.
(The added bonus for being a "Cornerman" is that you get to have a break
from time to time waiting for the Sweep).
